Dear MBNA Community,
It is with great disappointment that we must inform you that the following Medicine Bow Nordic Association winter activities have been canceled this season due to a lack of snow.
Wee Ski, Kid Ski, and Youth Ski Programs
Adult Ski Classes
Pole Mountain Shuffle
We remain committed to our mission and will continue monitoring weather conditions. Should sufficient snow arrive later this winter, we will begin grooming as usual.
Thank you for your continued support of MBNA. Your membership dues and donations sustain our organization year-round, ensuring we're ready to provide exceptional winter recreation when conditions allow. We look forward to welcoming you back to the trails as soon as nature cooperates.
Stay connected with us for updates, and we hope to see you on the snow soon.
(Note that the SNOW organization is grooming cross-country ski trails at Chimney Park, 35 miles southwest of Laramie on Hwy 230.)
Wee Ski (children ages 5-6)
PLEASE NOTE: The minimum age for Wee Ski is 5. We will not accept children who are under the age of 5 at the start of the sessions.
Brief Description: Skiers ages 5-6 will receive an hour of group instruction. Classes will meet for one hour on each Sunday in February listed below. Groups are small and kids are grouped according to ability and previous experience. Hot chocolate and cookies will be available in the warming hut at the end of class.
Feb 1, Feb 8, Feb 15, Feb 22 Meets from 1:30 - 2:30 pm
Fees: $45.00; MBNA Members are eligible for a $15 member discount (to be refunded manually after you register - please ignore request for Member ID). Parents or guardians who volunteer to teach in the ski school will receive a $20 refund at the end of the lessons. Some scholarships are available. Click here to apply for a scholarship.
To Register: Kids-Nordic-Ski-Lessons
Equipment and Clothing: Skiers should have skis, boots, and poles. We recommend that Wee Skiers leave poles at home the first day. Skiers must wear water and wind resistant pants and jacket or snowsuit and mittens. A hat, hood or ear band is also mandatory. Please don't dress your skier in clothing that snow will stick to - no one can learn or have fun if they are wet and cold! Socks need to be wool or polarfleece; no cotton. A water bottle is optional, but must be in a back-or waist pack that leaves the skier's hands free at all times.

Volunteers
Interested in helping out? We'd love to have you! There are many roles available, and not all require skiing proficiency. Ideally, volunteers would be available for all four class sessions and a training session. Click today to volunteer for an upcoming event. Please note the Volunteer tab is listed as the last item on the page, so please scroll down after clicking the link.

We reserve a small amount of money to help support young athletes in our Wee Ski, Kids Ski, Youth Ski, and Youth Skate programs. Determination of amount and number of scholarships will be determined by the MBNA Board of Directors on a yearly basis. Applications will be accepted through the end of January.
