MBNA is a non-profit organization supported by its members, other community contributors, and grants. We operate under a Challenge Cost Share Agreement with the U.S. Forest but are entirely responsible for the grooming of the Nordic ski trails at the Happy Jack area. Tax deductible memberships and donations are vital for covering administrative costs such as insurance, mailings, and the web site where we post information about trail conditions and events. They also help pay for grooming of the ski trails, which is done entirely by MBNA.

Skier Survey
Thanks to everyone that filled out our skier survey. With 220 responses, we got lots of good comments (our groomers ARE the best, aren't they?!) and some fun suggestions. We'll use the off season to plan on how we might implement some of them. And in the meantime--we hope you all have a great summer!
Ski Season Wrap-Up
This week brought the end of grooming at the Tie City ski trails. A few rounds of late season snowfall kept us going for quite a while, but this week's warmth finally thinned the base enough that we had to call it quits. Many thanks to Randy and Dan, our fabulous groomers, for all their hard work this season to keep the trails in great shape for skiing and racing. It was certainly a fun season!
We were very happy to be able to return to most of our usual programming for the 2021-22 ski season. The Pole Mountain Shuffle had over 100 participants in January, and more than 60 kids honed their skiing skills in our Wee Ski, Kids Ski, and Juniors classes. An enormous thank you to all the volunteers that helped out, at the race and with the kid's classes. And kudos to Harper, our ski school director, who somehow managed to convince Mother Nature to serve up great weather for all four Kid Ski Sundays.
Thanks to our Members
Finally, thanks to all of you--our members and donors--for supporting MBNA. You play a huge role in our ability groom and maintain the trails. Thank you! And if you never managed to click that "Join or Donate" button, it's not too late to do so, it's right near the top of this page. Thanks, and we look forward to seeing everyone next year.

Parking Update
The Forest Service recently informed us that they will be monitoring cars at the the Happy Jack parking lot for appropriate USFS parking passes, and will ticket vehicles that do not have passes displayed. The fine for parking without a pass is $70, so be sure to have your pass on display! See information at the bottom of this page on how to purchase day use or annual passes at the trailhead, online or at the USFS office.

USFS 2022 Annual Parking Passes
2022 Medicine Bow-Routt Annual Passes are now Available
We remind skiers that USFS parking passes are required at the Tie City trailhead. The 2022 Medicine Bow-Routt Annual Pass can be purchased for $30 at the USFS District office at 2468 Jackson Street in Laramie or online. The Annual Pass is valid for one calendar year from January 1 – December 31, and is a valid substitute for day-use fees on the forests. It is honored at all day-use areas across the forests, including the Tie City Trailhead, as well as at the Happy Jack Trailhead, Chimney Park Trailhead, Corner Mountain Trailhead, Fish Creek Falls, and Laramie Peak Trailhead.
Interagency "America the Beautiful" Annual Passes are also valid at the Tie City trailhead, and can be obtained at the USFS District office or online. Day use passes are also available for a $5 fee at the Tie City trailhead, or online.
Please remember that parking on the Happy Jack Road (WYO 210) is illegal, even if the car is parked fully out of the travel lane. Parking on the side of the highway can potentially start forest fires in the summer and creates difficulties for snowplows trying to keep Happy Jack Road open in the winter, among other concerns.
